I help people, communities, and organizations tell their stories. And to have those stories heard. Storytelling is at the heart of everything I do. I know how powerful it can be for a person to tell their story and to have someone truly listen. Telling your story can be just as transformational for an organization. It can help you understand who you are and show the world what you can do.
Community services need to be not only person-centred but, ultimately, person-driven. I work with organizations big and small, community-based or public sector, that share the desire to improve the health and well-being of people and their communities through work on the social determinants of health.
Cat’s Eye Consulting will help you cut through the jargon of planning, the code of government-speak, and the web of ineffective messaging to get to what’s important and impactful: your story, and the difference it makes to the world.
In my role as chief policy advisor to Nova Scotia's Minister of Health and Wellness, and during my time as a federal and provincial public servant, I've been part of ambitious movements to change the way health and social services are planned and delivered.
I know that two heads are better than one, and I thrive on collaborating with others. Here's what past clients have said...
"In working with Michelle on both a professional and volunteer basis, I have found her to be diligent, thoughtful, conscientious, and thorough. She has leadership skills and is able to motivate people. She has a pleasant personality and is a delight to work with. I can highly recommend Michelle with the full confidence that I know she will do a good job."
"Michelle is one of the best writers I know because she’s one of the best listeners I know. That, ultimately, is what makes a good writer great; knowing what words others are using, and how to shape them into a story that an audience can relate to. She has an almost magical way of putting pen to paper - or keystroke to screen - of anyone I’ve worked with. Michelle gets to the essence of the issue needing to be solved, understood and communicated. She applies a passion of purpose to every assignment. She expects greatness of everyone on the team and makes it safe for everyone to be part of it. She’s funny, self-effacing and brave. Writer, journalist, social worker, advocate. And a lovely human being. That’s Michelle."
Let’s Work Together
